The vast majority of scientists in relevant fields disagree with you.
And, most importantly, Al Gore.

Just finished 'The Confession' by John Grisham, t'was pretty good, if a bit laboured at times. But all in all a fairly decent read.
And now for something completely different!!??
'Disrepute Revie's England' by a certain well known poster on here!
Looking forward to it!

Have just finished D.R.E. and I have to say I was completely enthralled by it!
I found it very entertaining, thought provoking and also it provided me with some great reminiscings of players (Leeds and others) of that time.
All in all a thoroughly enjoyable read!

thank you very much sir. Now get on amazon and review it with your real thoughts on it
Must admit, I enjoyed writing it too, despite the munich game and despite seeing how badly The Don was treated and how his health deteriorated too. Couldn't have written half of it without the help of a certain legend of the Cocker clan
Thanks for your comments mate, brightened my day has that. Not that it's that dull at the moment.

Just a few chapters into Gaz Edwards latest book, No Glossing over it, How football cheated Leeds United. So far an enjoyable read, funniest bit so far was when Eric Morecambe was chairman of Luton Town and the referee, Jack Taylor was struck by a penny thrown from the crowd at Kenilworth Road. Morecambe went to check if Taylor was OK! and to make sure the ref wasn't going to report Luton Town for crowd misdemeanors. Taylor assured Morecambe that he would not be reporting LTFC over the incident, to which Morecambe responded could he have his penny back then

yeah I got this book too, not got to that part yet though. Am intending putting right a crappy review posted by someone on Amazon, I think they gave it one star because it was 'biased'. (Dumbest voice possible) - 'D'ya think it's maybe supposed to be biased?!'

Other than football books anyone else read anything different ? Me I like crime novels and my favourite author is Peter James who writes about a detective called Superindentent Grace, he also writes books similar to Stephen King.
Any other literary bods on here. Attention Stockport White this thread does not cover comics
Michael Connelly's books are excellent; also big fan of Lee Child and David Baldacci when it comes to crime thrillers.

Mrs PW has just finished 'The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo' by Stieg Larsson and says what a cracking read it was.
She's now started on the 2nd book of this trilogy that he wrote.
We are off to see the film this evening at the cinema and based on what she's said I'm looking forward to it.

Don't know about the new remake of The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo but the original movie starring Micheal Nygvist and Noomi Rapace was brilliant, although dubbed still an excellent movie. The next 2 in the trilogy were equally as good.
My wife was reading over my shoulder as I was reading your post and she says tell your wife to look out for another Scandinavian author called Jo Nesbo

Don't want to start a Ridsdale/O'Leary debate on the book thread.
But my wife came home yesterday, with O'Leary's book 'Leeds United on Trial' for me.
She got it from a Charity Shop and said "It was only £1 and it's about Leeds United, so you'll like it won't you?"
(My reply was, of course, "Yes dear!").
Has anybody read it, just wondered what people's thought were about it, as a book in itself?

Yes I read it, very quickly. It's not that controversial really, but it is quite staggering with respect to O'Leary's ignorance and stupidity, to not only talk about players he was still manager of at the time, not only to agree to its publication date and NOT ONLY because he 'had no say' in the title of the book, but because he seemed to forget how lucky he was to get the job when the club was in such a good state.
Yes I read Ridsdale's too, and that hurt me as well but there are some relevant comments in it, aside from the complete lack of apology and self-blame, and if you read O'Dreary's then I think you probably should read publicity Pete's as well
Thanks for spoiling my day

Yeah, I know but I figured for the first read I'd get the first one; Michael Connelly's Harry Bosch books don't need to be read in order either but I get a bit confused when they refer to wife/ex-wife/child etc and have to work out where I am in the Bosch life for it to make sense

Just bought the 2nd part of Jeffery Archers new trilogy, The Sins of the Father following on from the 1st book Only Time Will Tell. A great read about a young lad who does good from Bristol. No fan of Archer as a man but brilliant story teller in my opinion.
