Pre-season friendly Heading off to this game tonight at Sydney's ANZ Stadium.
Wasn't planning on going initially, the cheapest seats were $50, which went before I looked. The remaining seats in the best parts of the ground were $130!! I baulked at this, but then last night, saw some going cheap on eBay. Managed to talk to the guy down from $130 for 2 Gold Class tickets to $80. He complained that I drive a hard bargain, I beg to differ. $80 for two tickets to a PRE-SEASON friendly is still heaps!
Hyundai A-League 2010 Champions Sydney FC will clash with English Premier League (EPL) giant Everton and Qantas Socceroo Tim Cahill in an epic preseason showdown at ANZ Stadium on Saturday 10 July.
The A-League’s best will come up against some of the EPL’s biggest names as each team prepares for their respective 2010/11 campaigns right in the heart of Sydney.
The Sky Blues will be headlined by star strike duo Alex Brosque and Mark Bridge while Everton will boast the likes of Captain Phil Neville, Mikel Arteta, Louis Saha, Sylvain Distin and Jack Rodwell.
Sydney FC members can purchase their tickets in an exclusive pre-sale on Wednesday 19 May between 10am and 5pm via Ticketek while the general public sale commences on Thursday 20 May at 9am.
Ticketing on sale dates:
Sydney FC Members pre-sale: Wednesday May 19, 10am to 5pm
MyTicketek pre-sale: Wednesday May 19, 10am to 5pm
General public on-sale: Thursday May 20, 9am
Ticket pricing:
Gold – Adult $139.95
Silver – Adult $99.95
Bronze – Adult $49.95
Silver – Family $299.90
Bronze – Family $179.90
And people think Uncle Ken's prices are ridiculous!
Anyway, I will give a report back, should be interesting to see what differences there are in quality. Also, keen to see if Jermaine Beckford gets a start! Saw him getting off the plane with Tim Cahill on the news, and reckon he will get at least 45 mins. I will wear a Leeds shirt and chant his name, its the least I can do since he did us right by nailing that promotion clinching goal.

139 dollars is:
80 QUID!
Was an alright game. Everton never really stepped out of 2nd gear. Becks didn't play. Sydney never really troubled the Everton goal. Dwight Yorke turned out for Sydney, but looked way off the pace. He gave ball after ball away and looked releived to be taken off.
Crowd was 40,000 but didnt hear much singing from the Everton fans... disapointing really.
Next up is the Football Festival friendly tournament, with AEK Athens, Blackburn, Glasgow Rangers and Sydney. And 29 dollars gets you two games! Nice!
