Leeds pull out of contract talks
Not sure if this has already been mentioned but read this below on the Daily Mail Website - Hope it not true, He has been one of our best and most committed players for the last two seasons.

Luciano Becchio set for Elland Road exit as Leeds pull out of contract talks

Leeds have surprised Luciano Becchio by deciding not to offer the popular Argentina striker a new deal.

The Boca Juniors youth product has scored 36 goals in two seasons since arriving from Spanish club Merida, and helped Leeds win promotion back to the Championship in May.

The club approached Becchio about a new deal before Christmas and he is known to be keen to stay at Elland Road.
But despite a series of positive meets, the 26-year-old has now been told there will be no extension to a contract that runs out next summer.

Well I hope the YEP is right and not Daily Mail, Becchio is a very hard working striker and never gives up. We need him regardless of what else happens transfer wise

Jeez, I would have been very guilty of tempting fate after saying only a few days ago that losing becchio would be worse than losing Beckford!

Leeds United CEO Shaun Harvey has rubbished media reports claiming striker Luciano Becchio won't be offered a new contract by the club.
The Daily Mail claimed on Wednesday that Becchio has been told there will be no extension to his current contract beyond the end of the coming season.
"The story is completely untrue," said Harvey. "We're committed to keeping him at Elland Road.
"We've talked with Luciano's agent on several occasions over the summer and agreed that September, once the season is underway and the August transfer window closed, would be the best time for the parties to negotiate terms on a new contract."
The Argentinean striker, who joined the club as a trialist during the summer of 2008, has proved a prolific scorer for the past two seasons at Elland Road.
He is now in the third year of his Elland Road contract and has netted four goals in the last two pre-season games.
