You’re Choice Rock music has always been my preferred taste in music.
Jimi Hendrix is my favourite all time legend of rock.
‘Yes’, probably my favourite group.
Also like the Stones, Neil Young, Bob Dylan, Fleetwood Mac, Led Zeppelin, and Eric Clapton.
On current groups I like REM, The Editors, Snow Patrol & of course the Kaisers & Pigeon Detectives.

Too many to mention really, but the Beatles I always say are the best ever, whilst my favourite bands which I've grown up with about, are the Stranglers, New Order/Joy Division, Wire, Pete Wylie, Bill Nelson, Pink Floyd, the who , Stone Roses and a load of others. 'Newer' stuff - soft spot for the Kaisers, Editors and Elbow big time, plus Reverend and the Makers and Kippax lads The Music.
Was a very diverse childhood mine - the 70s was heavy rock, new wave & punk, moving on to electric/synth and then declaring that I like ANY music though rap and country & western, plus opera, I could live without probably.

Onenorthernsoul, you seem to have a similar musical taste to mine but I would include early Dire Straits, Talking Heads, The Jam, The Specials and Springstein in the growing up era and The Enemy, Kimngs of Leon, Radiohead and The Killers for what I like now. I suggest you check out an Irish Rockabilly artist called Imelda May - her debut album is brilliant.

Pink Floyd, Beatles, Rush, Led Zepellin, Porcupine Tree, Metallica, REM, Deep Purple, Bruce Springsteen, Neil Young, Radiohead, Queen, Red Hot Chilli Peppers, Genesis, Fleetwood Mac, Dire Straits, Santana, AC/DC, Eric Clapton/Cream, JJ Cale, Bob Dylan, David Bowie, U2 (in small doses), Thin Lizzy, Roxy Music, Black Keys, Supertramp, Yes, early ZZ Top.
Shows my age but don't care.
Might be a few more if I think but generally like rock and blues. Most new stuff passes me by but the kids occasionally will get me into something new

Favourite ever bands are Joy Division, The Libertines, The Smiths and The Stone Roses.
Favourite current artists would probably be Babyshambles, a couple of new-ish bands, Laura Marling and Editors and some others that aren't that well known.

My musical tastes are very eclectic.
I like Opera, and Blues, U2, and Neil Young.
I know it's not everyone's cup of tea but at some stage of your life listen to Maria Callas sing 'O Mio Babino Caro' from Puccini's opera "Gianni Schicchi", and then followed by Neil Young's "Needle and the Damage Done", next "Where the Streets Have No Name", and top it off by listening to Eric Clapton's "Before You Accuse Me".
More current I like Duffy (especially Warwick Avenue) and almost everything from The Killers.

here is mine laugh if u want to but thats just me elvis presley buddy holly adam faith steve ellis of the love affair mud sweet slade showaddywaddy all motown philly soul and reggae which aswad r my fav group and bob marley and some of the 80s shakin stevens stray cats and so of the 90s but not a lot of now

I have many favorite bands, but my number 1 band is and always will be Queen!
No one will ever beat Freddie Mercury! such a awesome showman and all round top bloke!! i used to get sooo much stick when i was younger for liking queen! yeah the guy was gay and died of aids... but so feckin what!! (funny that one of the guys that used to give me stick for liking queen turned out to be a batty boy!!!) he was still awesome!! RIP Freddie!!
While on the subject of great bands..... any of you like chumbawumba???? Classic Yorkshire band!! seen them many times live!! chumba rock!! and i am going to see them again this year!!
Other than queen i love all kinda stuff... blues, rock, folk oh and i also love Drum n bass/Jungle!!

Hey Simon,
When Queen first appeared on the scene I was really into them too. Their first 3 albumns were superb, full of original music, this of course came to a head with Night at The Opera. I continued to buy their albumns but apart from a few songs, IMO they never matched their earlier stuff, although Fred was, and is still remembered as the greatest front man ever.

Stone Roses, Happy Mondays, New Order, U2, Killers, Primal Scream are my favs, but i'll listen to pretty much anything including Rap and Dance, and I am partial to a bit of Elvis now and again. I'm starting to appreciate my Dads CD collection a lot more now. Must be getting old...

I also listened to French rap music, but now except some musics, I don't listen to anymore.
