Are there any budding - or professional - photographers on here?
Found out I will finally get my hands on my new Nikon next week so was wondering who else on here is into photography....

Me Me Me Me!!!!! I have always been into photography. You obviously don't read the We Are Leeds mags or else you would have been aware of my interests! Ask Bogdan, he now refuses to read page 40 in the programme!!!!

My main photo shoot is when I am selling stuff on 'E' Bay.
Camera is a Canon Digital XUS 8105 with 8.0 mega pixels.
Only amateur status for me

You obviously don't read We Are Leeds
Not a huge supply in Brighton
What camera do you have DLW?

I use my Sony Cybershot mostly as it is always in my pocket! I still have my old Canon AE-1, but these days seldom use it, as most of what I do is digital, either for Leeds or for static shots I use in my home movies (holidays before anyone starts thinking porn!). The Cybershot is great as it fits in my jeans pocket and goes everywhere with me.

I have a little compact digi camera for site (it gets battered climbing up scaffolding!) but will soon be the very excited owner of a Nikon D7000 for my 'proper' camera..... It's a business expense though as I do a bit of photography work as well as lighting

I'm the kind of person who thinks he would be decent at it, if only he had more time to experiment.
After years of holiday snaps with a small point & shoot, I bought a Canon 1000D with some of my first money here. It's a low-budget DSLR, but the transition from a compact is still astonishing. The first time I manage to taked a realistically-coloured photo of a dark environment, and with manual settings, I was well chuffed. But it's obviously bulky (got a zoom lens too), so unless I'm going somewhere really spectacular (not often), I won't bother. Left my old compact with my Mum n Dad, so now shamefully resort to taking snaps with my phone most of the time.

I'm actually the same on away days. The Sheepys will tell you I refuse to take my seat before documenting a new ground from as many angles as possible. The panorama-stitching app on my phone is the best thing since sliced bread.

I reckon it's always worth the bother, you never know what you might see. I'm only just upgrading from a basic Nikon DSLR but still fit in the camera, kit lens plus 10-20mm wide angle lens plus a 70-300mm zoom lens in an easy to carry shoulder bag.
The only time I don't take it with me usually is if I think it will get battered on site. I wouldn't even go for a walk along the seafront without it; you can never tell when the light might be just perfect.
Yeah I know, lighting again - Yawn!!!
I'll get me coat

I use public transport a lot. Buses daily, trains weekly, and often need to carry my laptop with me, so I get tired of the inconvenience of a bag with any kind of luggage. On a holiday, it's well worth it, but day to day, I don't feel inspired enough by the landscape of West Leeds.

The truth now comes out, I did wonder wonder why you wanted to set off at the crack of dawn on Saturday.

We could have a dedicated thread for bits n bats of our own photography, it doesnt have to be football related, or even that good, just glimpses into our lives.
I think it would be a nice thread

For the photographers on here (and astrophysicists & astrologers alike for that matter).... tomorrow there will be a Super-moon so time to dust off the Leicas and get out there.
Read all about it
Best viewed as close to the horizon as possible - enjoy

This is whether you're a budding photographer or not really but A-Day is all about capturing life on the planet on a single day: May 15th.
Photos can be of anything at all and can be taken on any device, so mobile phone or trusty Nikon will do equally well.
