Hi to everybody!

First and foremost, my name is Nicolò, I'm 22 years old and I come from Rapallo, a beautiful seaside town near Portofino, Genoa.
As you can see from my Account Name, i support Sampdoria, an Italian team which was unfortunately relegated to Serie B last year after having played the Champions League play-off and lost it with Werder Bremen the summer before: actually, during the year from CL and relegation, we sold our star players, Cassano and Pazzini, and our team suffered it till relegation.
I hope you know my team as I appreciate yours. I'm really attracted by LU: in particular, I was fascinated by Kewell&Viduka, a really great duo.

P.S.: Sampdoria is the only team with a T-Shirt which counts more than 2 colours and it has been quoted as the best shirt in Europe by a FIFA survey! Hope you like it!

This is a pic from our last Tim Cup Final in 2008

Ciao Nico e come siete. Benvenuti al forum Leeds Utd.

My Italian is real rusty (I got help to write the comments).

Big fan of Mark Viduka and Harry Kewell too although the later (Harry) is not regarded by some Leeds fans after the way he handled his move away from Elland Road and also going to Gala.

Harry now plays in Australia for Melbourne Victory and its been reported that Mark now runs a chain restaurants in Sydney and Melbourne.

Tutto il meglio e spero che la tua squadra sale la prossima stagione (more help writing this!).

Welcome in Nico!
Watched Italian football but have no real team (maybe Leece as its a close spelling to Leeds)

Do remember watching Sampdoria on the Tv here in Australia, did not mind their teams from the early to mid 90's, good players such as Vialli, Mancini, Gullit, Zenga, Vierchowod and Platt played then.

Welcome Nico. Don't follow Italian football so much now but I watched it quite a lot when the likes of Platt, Gullit, Mancini and Lomabardo played for you.

Seem to remember a very tasty friendly between Leeds and Sampdoria at Elland Road where Mancini wasn't at all impressed with our battling midfielder David Batty

Welcome Nico

Didn't John Toshak manage Sampdoria? Or am I thinking of someone else.

Never rated Harry Kewell. He wouldn't have gone for a 50/50 ball if he'd been playing against a ladies team.

I hope Sampdoria are back in the top league soon as well as LU.

Hi Barlow!
David Platt did play for Sampdoria for 2 years, when he was also the England skipper! Furthermore, he came back in 1999 as a trainer in order to try to save our team from the relegation but, unfortunately, he didn't succeded

On the other hand, John wasn't right because Toshak hasn't played for Sampdoria. [I also checked on Wikipedia cos I wasn't so s  ure ]

Hi John!
Thanks for your hopes for Sampdoria. I also answered about Toshak in the previous quote

Hi Lee!
I'm only 22 years old and, unfortunately, I haven't "lived" those wonderful moments of Sampdoria with those players you mentioned before and I also can't remember a match against Leeds: I would be very pleased to watch that game and I hope that we meet another time, maybe in Europa League or even in Champions League

Hi Mr.Russel! Good times with those players! 1 Serie A, 3 European Cup Finals with one victory, 1 Champions League final when we were defeated by Barcelona during the extra time and 4 Italian Cups. I wish I were a little bit older   Actually, I was born in 1990 and we won our Serie A in 1991.

Hi! It's strange that people from other countries are attracted by the attack system of an Italian team!    We are usually criticised to be too defensive

Hi Aussie!
Thank you for your welcome and for your effort to translate it into Italian! You've been really good

After all quotes, I would like to ask you all if you would be pleased if I wrote something about Italian football once a week in your "Off-Topic -- General Football" section: maybe, I could a recap on the Serie A and Serie B weekend of games. What do you think?

P.S.: if I make some mistake in English, please correct me! This could be a very pleasant way of improving your language

Hello Nico, from the frosty area of Canada. Don't worry about Bogdan, we don't like him much as he's such a tough admin bod. Plus he speaks English better than anyone else on here.

My favourite Italian team is Leeds.......

Nationally. "we"'ve taken over a few over cities there, particularly Torino.

Anyway, like Sampdoria, one of the well-supported teams outside the group of big clubs there.

Good work bruv

Must admit, when BSB and Channel 4 first started showing Italian league footy, I liked sampdoria because of the shirt, though the John Charles connection always made me like Juventus originally.
