A gutted Leicester fan Morning all, Leicester fan in peace. In the Leicester Mercury today they are saying our captain Matt Mills is going to you on loan for the rest of the season. He's a top player, but obviously Pearson doesn't like him so it looks like he's off Absoutely gutted about the decision. He's not been in the first team recently with Morgan and St Ledger starting. But a complete joke from us to loan out our 5 million pound man to our rivals. It's your gain lads. And he hasn't performed very well this season but he wants to stay but ultimately its Pearson who is forcing him out.
Good luck with the rest of your season!

What position does he play mate? You guys are flying at the moment, so lending us a decent player who isn't playing can't do anyone any harm

Very good player not worth the huge price tag that Leicester paid for him. Dan how are Leicester fans getting on with Jermaine Beckford ?

When we signed him everyone was on his back and there was talk that he could possibly leave But now he's trying harder and he has combined with Nugent well recently. As for Mills he's a very good player but his attitude is something else. Still angry that were giving him away to you when we paid so much for him in the summer!

Sounds like he has had a fall out with Pearson if he is behind St Ledger in the pecking order. Wasn't St Ledger told he would never be picked again only a few weeks ago, and the rumours were that he was on his way to Elland Road?

Leicester fan here. Just to tell you that according to someone from Leicester (he normally gets it right) this loan deal is completed untill the rest of the season. For me I'm glad hes been dropped because now we are playing really well and all he does is hoof the ball. So hope you like your new hoof cb good luck for the rest of the season apart from the final game

St Ledger wanted to go out on loan as he wasn't getting any games and was worried about keeping his place in the Ireland team for the Euro's but he got a chance and has played really well and kept his place. Mills has at times looked really good and then other times really badly and has got himself sent off twice and booked seven times. Wes Morgan has looked reliable and we now have Sol Bamba back from the African Cup of Nations and Aleksandar Tunchev is about fit again so Mills may find it tough to get back in the team. The rumours circulating now is that the clubs had agreed a deal but Mills has turned it down.

If this is true, and happens, then I will be more than happy. Quality player from what I have seen (admittedly just on the tele etc), and one of the positions we definately need some quality.
Hopefully, something will be released by the club soon.

Mixed signals from these Foxes. Is he worth a look-in? Mind you, if the clubs have reached an agreement and he hasn't then his head/heart isn't in the right place for Leeds.

Mills sounds like a good prospect if we were to get him in on loan. As for giving him away, well, I'm sure you'll be looking for someone with cash in the summer if you want to move him on, and I don't really see us paying even half of your buying price. Thanks for sharing your views though, appreciated.

I'm tired of loans. It's probably just me, and I should probably get over it, but I'm sick of loans.

Loans if we intend to buy at this stage of the season I can live with. Loans in the transfer windows should be scarcely used.

Yeah, I guess that would be OK. I am just tired of quantity over quality and temporary fixes. But if it was someone on quality that we intended to keep, I'd be fine with it.

Unfortunately the current window is for emergency loans only. For league clubs to loan from premier ship or clubs of the same level. So if we want NW to bring some one in it has to be on loan. If the prove to be assets and we do manage to scrape promotion then funds may be made available to sign them. MOT

A few opinions on Mills from RoyalRendezVous, a Reading forum (the club that, remember, he captained)
On Foxes Talk the Leicester forum all is not well with Matt Mills.Pearson the manager has had a big fallout and our Matty is training with the youth team and looks like curtains for him.It seems he became "abusive and vile" in a rant at the manager, can't confirm this has it's only on their board but the posters are consistent in their dislike of him. Most cannot believe he is worth 5mil and reportedly on 40k a week! Its worth looking at this thread ,well over forty pages of it,breaks your heart don't it
What is it with Mills? He wasn't the most popular captain here and he certainly isn't at Leicester.
Its weird, on paper he should be one of our most successful captains, captained us to two FA cup quarter finals and a playoff final, but for whatever reason he never seemed to get the fans support. The incident at QPR didn't help but given the connection previous captains and members of the academy and 106 team had with the fans he looked like he wasn't that fussed either way, and that showed when he made a sideways move to Leicester.
I never liked his attitude, if you noticed his temper always flared on the pitch at small decisions. He did have good technical skill, and, on that basis, he is a decent defender, but I have to say I wasn't the saddest to see him leave, he was always overratted in my opinion and any club who wants him is welcome to what they get, be thankful we managed to get so much for him.
