Interview question? Hearing on the radio that apparently people are asked increasingly ridiculous questions at job interviews these days (not had an interview for about ten years so am obviously behind the times) including... "If you were a dinosaur, what dinosaur would you be?"
So for anyone who has a job interview pending (or just a few minutes for amusement), here's a helpful quiz to find out....
Which dinosaur

Well that is a strange one! For what its worth I am a :
Triceratops
You're a dinosaur, but instead of being frightening and terrible, you prefer to eat vegetables and smile nobly. If dinosaurs had boy scouts, you're the only one who wouldn't eat them.

You wouldn't be satisfied with being a dinosaur. You also have to be a bird. Everyone is very impressed. Now please get back on the ground and be normal.

Well I got made redundant at Christmas (why is it always at Christmas?!)
I've been lucky enought to have had a few interviews before and since.
Interview techniques vary, I've had some real tough ones and some real easy ones.
Three questions asked in my last interview,
1) If you were an animal, what would it be?
2) Do you like dogs?
3) What's your star sign?
Anyway, wanting to be a sniffer dog, liking dogs and being a Capricorn seems to work as I start on Monday 18th!!

Congrats Cymru and the best of luck in your new job. I am also intrigued to know what job your doing and how relevant the above questions are in such a role.

I resigned at Christmas (must have been out of my mind). Have done the interview thing - question was "have you done this before?" I said yes, and started the following Monday!
p.s. Monday is the 19th mate, so don't turn up on Sunday, keen or not!!!!

Thanks for the comments everybody.
The job is with a small family run electronics company, it's as much as fitting in as what you can bring to the company.
Apparently, the MDs wife brings her dogs to work sometimes, so being a dog person helps, sniffer or not!!
I am a quality co-ordinator, would rather be a sniffer dog, maybe in another life ah.....

Well I got made redundant at Christmas (why is it always at Christmas?!)
A friend of mine was workshop manager for unipart (remember them?) they promoted him to general manager.
One April he went to the managers meeting at regional office, he was told that he had to make an employee redundant, it was up to him who he released but he wasn't allowed to tell him until Christmas eve, Steve (my friend) agonised over his decision, the guy he let go was a single father supporting two children.
Steve never let on the length of time he'd known of his predicament. the following year it was Septembers regional managers meeting when he was given the instruction to sack someone at Christmas, same rules as previous year.
The following year Unipart was taken over by Charlie Browns & Steve was moved to their manchester branch & later to Grimsby, he packed in & became a driving instructor.
