Tbh, Warnock is good at getting promotion but poor at keeping teams in the EPL.
Tbh, I'll take promotion, and we can worry about staying there when we get there.
This. Wholeheartedly this.

I don't care how you look at it, Huddersfield are not playing better with Grayson, they are not better in the league table with Grayson and by all considerations of why he was brought there he is not doing the job. End of.
I was just using stats that back up he IS doing better todate. Maybe they are playing awful and drawing and winning games they should lose.. But stats say they are better off now and stand a better chance of making the play off's as they did when Lee Clark was there. If Hudds fan's and not happy with that, i could not care less !
I have enough to worry about right now being a Leeds fan
Shaun Derry = mystery signing (my tip)

They are further out from automatic, with less games to go.
That's the definition of being worse off, via stats.

I'm not certain it's necessarily a player out of contact but given that NW says he hopes to have him signed on or around 1st May, I think it effectively rules out any Premier League or Scottish Premier clubs as their season doesn't finish until May 13th so a deal would either be announced now or not until after the end of their season.
That would mean it's not any of the QPR lads, Robinson or O'Dea; most likely a Championship club not involved in the play-offs.
Course I could be wrong, but that seems unlikely

Daily Mirror Reports that leeds are set to make an offer for Jason Pearce of Portsmouth.
The same paper touched on this last week.

I think Warnock knows our defence is the problem.
Possible signings:
Alan Smith
Matthew Kilgallon
I'd like to say Ian Harte
Paddy Kenny
Clint Hill
Fitz Hall
Rob Hulse
Max Ehmer
I'm unsure about outs, but there certainly will be 6-10 leaving.

Alan Smith's REALLY had an impact at MK Dons in div 3 hasn't he?
* Runs away now under barrage of 'Not another Smith debate on here!' abuse

Let's talk about Bates instead.
Not sure about Smith, but you're probably right, he's been distinctly unexciting (or perhaps we just don't follow Dons news enough?). Just checked up on his stats, seems he's played 13 times for MK since he's got there. But having said I would have taken a gamble on him when he went there, I'm not sure I'd be bothered now. All (lack of) reports say he hasn't set the division alight, and in that respect (whilst considering we now have an excellent idea of what League One players can do at our level) he's not that interesting anymore, is he?

Just a thought. I don't know how he's been performing for Rangers reserves, but David Healy could be a good reserve striker for under 100k.

I don't agree with just getting up and then worrying about it later.
Warnock has got a lot of teams promoted throughout his career and he deserves full credit for that but you can't take a team up to the premier league playing one way and then start changing the manager and the team to try and survive. You should be going up and strengthening a few positions but playing with the same philosophy, unfortunately Warnocks philosophy won't survive in that league and it's been proven with Sheff U and QPR( or would have been had he stayed).
Out of the three promoted last season there is only one (Warnock's team) who are in the relegation fight and they sacked him and brought new blood in to even give themselves hope of staying up. Remember we beat them twice when they went up so they weren't that special! The other two, Swansea and Norwich, both play attractive football, have highly rated managers and are being praised for their ability by just about everybody who sees them.
A season in the top division without a hope of surviving in that division would do more harm than good to me and we should be expecting better than that. We really are at a cross-roads now. If Warnock is allowed to spend but only gets the players he wants to get us out of this division we will all have a good time next season as we go up (in theory) but it will no doubt come crashing down the year after.
