I don't like reading arguments, and that includes when it's me arguing too , and the really long-winded posts inc. quotes are nearly as annoying as giddykippers suggesting we buy any player available who they like the sound of or who has done really well on one of them Footie Management games and putting it in the Transfer Rumour thread, but that's very possibly because I'm a miserable middle-aged sod
Heard Chelsea have offered £32 million for Lucas Moura from Brazil. Signed him for Leeds in FM2012 for £22milion and he's done cuss all apart from moan about being homesick.
Definitely not worth a punt then

ahh depends how you look at it i guess
I mean how many clubs are looking to sign 6 players? Maybe Milwall only want to sign one player, so hit their goal already. So in that case we are not busy enough

Think they need more than 1 player but you make a fair point, I guess I'm just trying to say the transfer market is hardly buzzing just yet .

Just to put some clarity on what initially annoyed me about some of the earlier posts is that the original comment that caused me some friction was the 'I'd piss myself if Pearce' handed in a transfer request (or words to that effect). Which just showed the best interests of the club were not at heart. There was no mention of Bates in that post and it just a random comment that I took completely at face value. It was only after that post that it became part of the whole Bates discussion and the various 'methods' that could be used to get shut.
I just don't like statements that look like someone could get pleasure from something going wrong for LUFC no matter what they thought the end product would be.
And for what its worth, I don't think Bogdan was being righteous about it, he just posted with a lot of passion and made his point (on more than one occasion) very well.
Anyway, there's no point any of us falling out over it or getting fed up, we are all Leeds fans and we just have different ideas on how things can be improved at the club and I do understand and accept that, even though I might not always agree with the ideology behind it!
And lets face it, we are a bit prickly because frustration is setting in with the death of the promised transfer activity and some of us are working nights, its hot and can't sleep.
Also, (putting on my Admin hat here) we completely value the opinions of all posters on here, no matter if they have made 1 or 1000 posts, it really does not matter at all and we would never belittle or dismiss someone on here because of that.
Lets face it, I have made a zillion posts and not many of them make much sense
Love to all, Bates Out, Warnock In and In Grayson I Trusted

Oh dear - Ward going to Palace, LUFC unable / unwilling to fund £400k purchase.
FFS.
Warnock, with no contract, I can only see him walking away.
sad times

Mmmm, to be fair I think the part about unable/unwilling to fund the 400k is press Bo$$ocks, as only just a week ago my brother (who is unfortunately a Palace fan) told me Ward was only interested in staying down south and Palace were favorites to sign him!

Surely press BS (if fed from the club) would have been to say the player didn't agree terms though, wouldn't it? The 400k thing (which sounds like a realistic fee) has come from the YEP from the start, and I don't see why they would make up the excuse. Plus, if location was the only issue, I doubt negotiations would have dragged on for a few weeks with clubs mostly from the North of the country.

i do fear this is worrying news.
could of spent under 1mil to get two very good young defenders. THis is the ambition snoddy is talking about. i dont know the facts and i believe papers makes things worse.... but warnock clearly wanted him and pearce and ward are ment to be inseperable meaning we surely were front runners? i will be dissapointed if getting the finance turns out to be the issue.....but for now i will agree it was maybe a staying 'down south' issue.
Familiar feel about this transfer window already though.
A warnock style Joker/ Ace in the pack/ up the sleeve / rabbit out the hat signing before his holidays will do nicely right about now.

Have we all seen the new Ian Harte interview where he states he turned us down 10 days ago?

My very first post…How exciting! Despite news being slow on the transfer front it’s very exciting to register and be part of the lufc talk revolution . . . how could I resist joining the debate during the silly season that is the transfer window!
As already mentioned, I don’t think there’s much need for panic yet. The window has been very quiet, and ‘missing out’ on signing Joel Ward or other potential rumored players (we already have a squad of 78 players for next season) is not the end of the world. Greg Halford would have been my preferred choice anyway, and I believe he suits our transfer spending policy on being a freebie!?
I think we’ll be going for tall, powerful and pacey players for next season challenge….which is why the Ian Harte rumor is a bit of an odd one!
Keep the faith – MOT!
