Nowhere near as bad as it could have been. If we ever do go up the TV rights and everything that comes with that will ensure we have a lot more in the bank that £4.5m.

Money to Directors ( Bates, Harvey, Lorimer, Allen) rose from £171,000 to £299,000. A year on year rise of 71.8%

So Lorimer gets £299k?

We are we all surprised when he backs Bates in the press? for £299k you can't really blame the bloke too much

Just in case it is not obvious, assume Sheepy is joking here! The £299k is shared between Harvey, Lorimer and Allen! I would guess Harvey is the bulk of it.

i was jesting a bit, but even so and im being serious now, if Lorimer gets 75k a year for what he does, its easy money really.

Yeah it is, course it is - but he does have to put in quite a few appearances, at the Pav every other week, at the Regional meetings, entertaining folk etc. You and I would love to do it I expect! BUT in the context of this stupid sporting commercial world where Gary CrispEater can earn £2m quid for presenting one TV show a week and get a car to drive him home at the company cost, then I don't begrudge Lash his £75k or whatever it is! He also has the responsibilities that go with being a company director - everyone used to laugh at me when I said that about myself, but there are some onerous reponsiblities in that , esp if things go wrong! Finally, I think we get better value out of PL at that sort of money than any Prem footballer I can think of who prob gets that every two weeks! Barmy money. Why oh why is there not more of an outcry from ordinary folk about footballers wages?

Ordinary folk having an opinion on the subject here (I know in the grand scheme of the many financial points put forward on here, mine is the most pointless but hey); quite surprised to read that Leeds Directors get so little money for their role and its responsibility. 75K in British pounds is about $120K Australian. Not to sound too daft but where I live that's what the mines pay unskilled labour. I would expect that a Director of a Championship Club get at least as much as the highest paid player wage. It's little wonder players opinion of themselves go to unacceptable levels when they think about being the highest paid staff member of the Club. It may also work against them when their form starts to dip too.

That might be making it sound a bit too trivial maybe. £75k is no small pay here. I think the absolute minimum you can start to look after yourself on in this area is £15k. And without further disrespect to Lorimer, apart from the physical presence and effort, I see it as a mostly decorative role, without much acumen required in any particular field (god knows the man shows very little of it with regards to public addresses in the YEP).

Not to disprove your information, but I know of someone who moved to Australia recently as a highly-qualified telecommunications engineer (after a thorough employment process by a big company), doing work on mobile phone masts and that and he is on something like $60-70k AUD.

I suppose my point was lost when I compared salaries, sorry about that. I was merely agreeing with DLW10 but also by looking at the wage of a miner in the town I live in versus the wage of that particular director. I was merely surprised and I thought I'd give you a perspective of an outsiders first thoughts.

Do appreciate my ignorance as I have not earned a pound nor do I know or understand Lorimer's actual role. I was just merely surprised that's all.

Not sure about telecommunications engineer's. I'm a qualified civil engineer    (with a postgraduate as well) so I can only talk about where my experience lies and that is the mines (limited), refineries but mostly the water industry. Now I'm only mentioning this next statement to justify a point. Please, at the risk of doing it again (losing my point), it is not to be taken any other way. The last major water project I was on, Labourer's generally got between $25 to $35 an hour based on experience, Trade qualified staff got about $45 an hour, and the rest of us were on salaries. Normal working week was 6 ten hour days. A quick tap on the calculator and you'll understand what I mean. Also note that the water industry (construction projects) are not sustainable in one particular area/town/city so generally, construction staff are here today gone tomorrow.

As a side note to all this   , on that construction site I met a Birmingham fan. He had been a baker in Birmingham for 30 years before coming to Australia. He started off as the general hand around the site before starting his apprenticeship as a concreter. Really nice bloke. I tried to get him out for a beer but he was happy to state that he'd been dry for 2 years now. I'm lucky to make two weeks   .
