No real surprises there, with the exception of Clayton. Was he the player rumoured to have asked for £15k?
Bye bye Billy Barndoor!

I just can't understand why Clayton's been transfer listed. We'll have to wait and see what happens with him...

I don't fully see what Clayton and Nunez have done wrong, especially Clayton.... surprised to say the least.
Connolly is going though

Was a bit surprised to see Taylor's name on there until I realised it was Maik, not Charlie
Clayton and Brown the surprises I suppose though seems that Sky Sports understood correctly on the AC rumour.
Gonna be interesting to see who comes in now then

Maybe we'll take players off the transfer list and put them on in the future. It's all very peculiar.

Other than this obviously being a statement of intent, what do we think the impact will be on the money available to fill the gaps in terms of potential transfer fees and wages freed up? Clayton's surely a mid-table Championship player, even if he's not the finished product yet.
Finally got rid of Connolly...

This is it, in previous seasons we wouldn't get many deals in, but we weren't shifting players either.
I am hopeful and putting my trust in The Warnock's better judgement.

Claytons early season form was great, he just dipped (like the rest of the squad) towards the end of the season, he will be gutted. I feel for the lad.

Adam Clayton @Clayts15
Unfortunately the rumours are true....
Unfortunately for us or him?

He didn't sound too gutted this afternoon (presumably after his meeting?) when he tweeted about looking forward to playing golf!
Speculation but if he did ask for a wage increase then it could be NW not pandering to him, in which case, fair play.

If we weren't going to bring anyone in, I'd be annoyed about the loss of Clayton, and I do feel bad for the lad as he seems a good guy to have in the dressing room, but given Warnock likes to have strength in the middle, this isn't that surprising a decision really.
I'd love to see Garath McCleary of Butterfield come in, but I assume we'll be after at least 2 CMs now, since Brown hasn't got the legs to be first choice for a full season, unless Colin sees Danny Pugh as the immediate back up...

A real statement of intent. NW has shown he is not scared to make the big decisions. Now lets see who is coming in. We want first eleven players not squad players now.
Its a breath of fresh air.

I think we are still in the slightly dissadvantaged position when getting rid. Listing these players and actually getting them out are two completely different things. Hope we don't end up subsidising the outgoings.

Cannot understand why we are keeping brown, getting on now in footballing terms didnt have the legs last year so will definately not this year. Probably on a fair whack too.
Disappointed with clayton going as well. I dont think we have seen the best of him since michael brown started playing alongside him. My guess is tiredness from doing two shifts.
Rant over...

Brown staying, Clayton going? Warnock's bloody barmy. Says a lot about the football we'll be playing. I don't want to support the Championship's Stoke. Why can't we play like Swansea?

Just re-read my End of Season report on the players to see what I said about AC...
Clayton – without doubt he has potential to be a cracking midfielder. BUT he doesn’t seem to own a footballing brain so doesn’t see passes that are on a lot of the time and he needs to grow up a bit. Needs someone to learn from, but could be the heartbeat of next year’s side. Retain
Maybe NW saw the same thing in the lad?

I would have kept Clayton too but NW must have someone lined up - he has said he wants 4-5 new faces in by end of May so I'll take his word for it.
Clayton's form dipped after November and I think he was the one NW said about a player that he thought he wanted to keep but in the last few weeks he had a change of mind...
