The Statue of the Man who made Leeds United! I don't want a badge to prove it, but I am definitely approaching Giddy Kipperness Saturday is going to be one brilliant day, I'm actually getting a bit emotional!

Am looking forward to this, my rosette arrived in this mornings post. Was going to travel up Friday but will now be going up early Saturday. Suit at the cleaners so I look a smart lad King_Billy did you manage to get onto the same table as myself and GE ?
Was a little angry looking at The Official Site yesterday as the way I read it looks like it was the clubs idea and perhaps they have supported the idea financially but of course we all know they haven't.
Thanks go to Jim Cadman for the fantastic effort that he and his team have put in to make this possible. Saturday will be a very emotional day for the older Leeds fans but a day I am looking forward to. Also thanks go to the unsung folk like our very own On Northern Soul who has given an awful lot of his own time in helping out on the days building up to the unveiling, why he has even missed a few free beers in the process Another person who falls into the unsung hero department is George aka King Billy who sold a fantastic ammount of raffle tickets.

Shucks, thanks Phil. Whatever the club and Bates & Smithers try to claim, the simple truth is that this fantastic statue has been built thanks to funding from the Fans. Look forward to seeing you on Saturday mate

Thanks, Nottingham White my labour of love has almost finished, tomorrow should be a great day, it's kept my season going because the football been crap!!!
I have been down to Elland Road twice this week even went this morning following seeing him on the website but they have covered him up!!! (Will have to wait while tomorrow only one more sleep haha )
There are six of us going now so I haven't asked Jim to put me on a specific table, but I will buy you a pint Phil, see you tomorrow.
Spoke to Jim we are going to keep this going and have a dinner every year for the 250 Club and raise some funds for good causes, but obviously he will ask all the 250 C;lub members, I'm up for it hope you are too.

I doubt Jim will be that interested in annual dinners mate, he's like Clint Eastwood and I expect him to trot off on his white charger sooner rather than later, as they say 'My work is done here'

Here are a few pics I took. Nothing that great because I could only use my small camera as the blinking memory card on my decent camera has somehow split and the camera won't read it. Anyway, at least I have got some pics that show the crowd, unveiling and the statue itself:
We nearly did not make it, only got there at 10:55am, and then was staggered they charged £2 to park the car on Fullerton Park. Did I have any money on me? Nope! So Mrs Sheepy has to dash to a cash point AND get charged £1.75 to draw out our own money!
Anywho, we got there just in time, enjoyed a good rendition of Marching On Together and then listened to Jim Cadman who gave a very good speech before the statue was unveiled. Afterwards we had quick look at the memorabilia on sale inside the Pavilion and purchased a signed print of Mr Revie - very nice. All the money went to the Motor Neurone Disease research charity which was a very nice touch.
We finished off with an all day breakfast in Billys and watched the Rangers match. The last few pics of the statue were taken when everyone had left.
The statue looks great and a fitting tribute to the man who made Leeds United (as per the title of this topic). Massive credit goes to those who organised this tribute and those who contributed either financially or with their own time, some people gave both, and I know, some are on this forum reading this right now.
They have helped to commemorate a great man with a tribute that will last forever and be enjoyed by many future generations. To them, I doth my cap.

Should have happened decades ago but at long last thanks to the work & generosity of the fans we have made it happen.
Would have loved to be there to share in the homecoming of that great man but I will pay my respects the next time I am up in Leeds.
Thanks for sharing those Pics Sheepy.
