Like the "young Wilfred" comment CJ! Given that I've been a Leeds supporter since before our first FA Cup final appearance in 1965, you must know some seriously geriatric LUFC die-hards!
Knowing nothing about the general terms and conditions of CVA's, there may still be some general clause contained therein concerning the profits from sale within 5 years, which is why I was hoping that we might find an actual creditor who had a copy of the final (approved) CVA proposal.
Wilfred, he might have been thinking about me. I saw my first LU game in season 1951/52.

I was merely being polite, and you're welcome
Incidentally, I searched hard for terms of the agreed CVA but suspect they are private. As you say, unless someone who was a creditor at the time can clarify, I guess we won't know.

Perhaps they have been a bit too liberal with what they know and caused a bit of hysteria but the fans asked for answers and they tried to answer them as much as they could with the knowledge they had available, the alternative was to take the stance the club took and said absolutely nothing.
This is part of my point, it wasn't that they were being liberal with what they knew, I don't believe they knew anything and they seemed to be winging it with some of their quotes.
Better to say nothing or admit you don't have the answers rather than guess or pretend you know, 9 times out of 10 you will end up with egg on your face, which is what happened with lust during this process.

The truth of the matter is if Bates wasn't such a crook this whole issue would have been resolved by now in my opinion.
It does all come back to that, doesn't it?

Bates-out.com, who I believe was one of the first (if not the first) to break the news of the initial takeover talks has stated on twitter that there will not be an announcement on the takeover tomorrow. He has also put forward the name Sheikh fawaz bin mohammed al khalifa of Bahrain as our future owner.
Again, very hard to know how much credibility to place on this type of info but you never know!
Let's hope tomorrow is the end game and we're put out of our misery once and for all.
On a side note, the 5 year timeframe on the club not being sold after administration is apparently a myth as per the terms of the initial CVA that timeline actually expired in June 2008 so there is no additional amount due to creditors no matter if we're sold today, tomorrow or next year.

If the person behind the twitter account is the same one who registered (one of the - there are two) batesout website, then he used to visit lufctalk as well and I've met him in person. Won't relay an entire conversation, but he seemed genuine and with some corporate connections and background around the club that might explain his snippets of inside info to an extent.
Regardless of that, the twitter account itself has looked a bit more credible than the usual flock of rumour-kindlers. He's only posted when there's been something to say, the claims haven't been outlandish and he has been pretty consistent (or so it looks to me). Let's just hope it ties in publicly and we can move on quickly to the next stage.
For the record, this is what he has posted tonight

I fear this is correct.... Given the present human rights issues in Bahrain, it might explain the secrecy, would be surprised if bates sold us to Mugabe!

Given the human rights issues around ER over the last number of years,I think we'll be far better off either way!

Looking at previos news ...This bahraine guy evidently was a life long Leeds fan when he tried to buy us in 2003, with a couple of saudi's. Moot point initially didn't lust say they had been approached by 3 consortiums. I believe saudis have issues getting money out of the country, but Saudi is where the money truely is. God knows or rather Allah knows!

I know it has been mentioned on here before about a Transfer Embargo on the club, whilst the takeover was in progress.
Does the sale of Clayton mean this is over, and the takeover deal has been done ?.

It seems to me as if the deal is done. I reckon there's been interest in the likes of clayton for a few weeks now so the club knew he was being sold, how much they were getting for him and his value would have been factored into the price the new owners were paying for the club as a whole. All assets including playing staff would have had to been valued anyway to get to an agreed price.
On the incoming transfers, that is a different story I'd imagine. I'd doubt we will confirm any transfers that will cost a fee (like kenny and peltier) until the takeover has officially been confirmed as this will be coming out of the new owners pockets.
I'm still hopeful of hearing something today.

Why announce the transfer so early?
Do we have a busy day coming?

If you Google the name: Sheikh fawaz bin mohammed al kahlifa it tells you that he keeps pigeons and races them.
Sounds like a Yorkshireman to me.

Trust me there are no problems getting money out of Saudi Arabia - well at least not currency restrictions. Most wealthy Saudis (and wealthy in Saudi has a MUCH different meaning to wealthy here in the UK) have significant property interests in Europe and European bank accounts normally in Swtizerland.
If we are bought out by someone from Saudi or Bahrain learn the phrase "inshallah" - God willing. It's the stock answer for any question you may care to ask them.

As opposed to "insular" which is Bates way of doing deals.

It's titled "QPR - The four year Plan". The only places that I can find it are on DVD from Amazon, or, it's available on LoveFilm.com (Take out a free 30 day subscription!).
I enjoyed watching it, but it's much more about Briatore & Mittel than Warnock. Shows what football managers have to put up with!
Reason: Omission
