This really has gone quiet, you would have thought someone somewhere would at least have something to say on the matter. Heard yesterday not sure how reliable it is that Bates has pneumonia and this is one of the stumbling blocks in the deal.

For something like a month I've read in the rags that the 12th of July was the target date for the announcement. It's past now, I feel like it's the 70th minute of the game, we're scoreless but you think we can get at least one in the next 20. Time flies, 10 minutes have past and no change.
I now we are in a better off situation-wise at the moment than a Club such as Rangers but we've served our time, we have paid our due, it's time Leeds Utd rises out of this mess.
If it turns out that Ken is the investor and the investment is a casino, carpark, etc, lets hope his other interest is Leeds Utd the Football Club too.

sheepy
It started end of May and it is getting frustrating, but if you think how long it takes to buy a house, I suppose its a reasonable length of time really.
Just out of interest I had a look at one of the online Forest forums and the first post on their Takeover thread was on April 13th ........ so if ours takes the same length of time then we are looking at another 6 weeks

It could well be, but it could also be tomorrow. The thing is, nobody actually knows apart from the chap, or chaps or chapettes that will be signing those papers.
Its hard to do it, but we need to be patient and chilled out about it.

I recon Warnock could get us promoted even without the takeover. He knows what hes doing, been here before, makes cheap singing for 500k and brings in the right players. I just dont want all other fans saying stuff like "oh you only got promoted because you had money"

I think it takes a blend, to go up you need to bring in quality players but you don't have to spend like Ridsdale on speed. When Warnock was at Sheffield United I don't recall him spending stupid amounts of money.
Look at Leicester City, they spent a ridiculous amount of money last season and got nowhere. You need to bring in the right players, its not Football Manager, to go up you need a blend of talent, hard workers and battlers.

Ah well, that puts things in perspective, we've never been told that before.
I'm not having a go or anything, but we were supposedly incredibly close 3 weeks ago. They need to stop repeating that and just say - "we've said all we could have. Sit tight and see there this ends."
Let's not open the champagne bottles yet, that doesn't reveal anything positive about the progress of the process, just more or less confirming that sheikh is involved, which was pretty much the only bit of information that had been unearthed already.
We all wish & hope for a takeover which if it happened with the proper people would be fantastic.
But what if we could stop bates syphoning of all the money from transfers etc.
We could i believe with NW move forward if only he could handle the funds to wheel & deal
Wont happen i suppose while bates is about but could be done.
With the right selling & buying we could still get promotion.

That's exactly like Football Manager.
I agree though. Warnoock will only spend where he needs it. He knows which players he wants and will pay what he has to, to get them, given the funds. If he gets the right player for free, then that's a bonus. What he pays for each player will not determine what he expects from them. He will expect all the players to put a shift in and sweat blood for the team.
The best team we had to watch at ER in recent years was in O'leary's early years. The team outworked the opposition, no matter who they were. I'm sure we will see this kind of commitment next season.
We're going up as champions.
You'd certainly like to think (or hope) so.
It would definitely be in the best interests of the prospective new owners to get this sorted as early in pre-season as they can so that transfers in and out of the club could be done in time to give Warnock the best possible chance of getting his squad right for the season's start and give us the best chance of achieving promotion.
I remain very optimistic that this will go through but the wait and the delay is getting extremely frustrating. Get it done already.
On a side note, the lack of info coming from the club is a disgrace IMO. An update statement even stating that due diligence is still ongoing or giving us some clue as to the current state of play would seem to be the very least we deserve.
