Flipping heck it's a tough league this time around. At least the last two fixtures are winnable

So once again the Football league does one over on us. Away all over Christmas again. Blackpool home and away on a Tuesday again and last game of the season away again!

For those of you who fancy a trip to the seaside, we're playing Brighton away on November 3rd.... In itself not very exciting but the whole of Sussex does Guy Fawkes' celebrations in pretty huge style culminating in Lewes Bonfire on the 5th (always the 5th unless it falls on a Sunday) with torch-lit processions in the streets, effigies of the Pope and topical people blown up and six separate bonfire and firework sites, all in the one town. About 3,000 are in the parade and anything between 50,000-100,000 watch.

So if you fancy making a long weekend of it, I recommend it as a spectacle. Plenty of images on Google and info from Wiki.

One of last year's effigies:

Warnock

"It's a great fixture to start with," said the United manager. "You can't really have a better game than that to start off with.
"We start with Wolves at home then Blackpool away, and you couldn't have two much tougher games than that. Peterborough as well will be a toughie down there.
FULL FIXTURES HERE
"Then you look at the next four games with Blackburn, Cardiff, Hull and Forest. That just shows what a great league this is.
"People will talk about a tough start to the season and it is, but the six teams we face first up will also be looking at their starts and thinking 'we've got Leeds.'
"It's my job to make it as difficult as possible for those teams."

I cannot believe my luck! We are going on holiday to the 'States in September and I knew therefore we would have to miss at least one game. I chose the first international break to make sure we only missed one game. The game we will miss? Cardiff City away! What a result that is - one of the most complicated to arrange, one of the furthest away, and one we have only recently done anyway! Thank you to the fixture computer. All I need to do now is to shake off my jet lag when I land back in the UK on 18th September...and get my arse up to Elland Road for the Hull game that night!

Wolves will be a great test as I would imagine they will retain most of their Premiership players and thus may even be ante post favourites to win promotion.

Should be a decent opening day crowd as well.

Only 9 days interval over the xmas period to fly home to the motherland without missing an ER game. And missing Forest away again! the FL don't like me much.

there are no easy games but from March onwards, with the exception of Birmingham, they are all games that we should be winning if we want to be near the top of the table!

Suppose it's just a matter of time before games and moved and kick off times changed. On a personal note Forest away on Boxing Day, that'll do me

no easy games if we dont have a squad to start with   , wish this take over would hurry up and we would get some players in, can not be having Birmingham or Huddersfield finish above us id never live that down   .
