Latest idea by Platini
Michel Platini, said yesterday (whilst apparently keeping a straight face) that UEFA will be looking into hosting Euro 2020 in several venues all over the continent, rather than choosing just one host nation.

"The Euros in 2020 could be held all over Europe," said Platini. "It could be either one country and 12 stadiums or one stadium in 12 or 13 cities."
Platini confirmed a final decision would be taken in January or February next year.
"This matter will be discussed very seriously," he added.

A very poor idea in my opinion, and another step towards devaluing the major competitions (remember this will be extended from 16 to 24 teams already from 2016). The practical side of it can be argued - tournaments in big countries like Brazil or Ukr/Pol already involve long-distance travel between venues, but the tournament surely is also about the single-country celebration atmosphere?

It feels like playing into the commercial side of it again, making it easier to market, because it can now be sold on a game-by-game basis to basically any country who'd want it (and remember, countries like Azerbaijan are technically part of Europe and UEFA).

Thoughts?

I think its a crazy idea, simply for the cost to the fans, having to get from moscow in the quarters to munich in the semis 3 days later or something similar is jut ludicrous, the airlines would hike up the prices. Aswel do you let all 12 teams qualify automatically or do you risk having a host country without a team in the competition.I think extending the euros to 24 is a bad idea also, even though it means ireland have a better chance of qualifying, because theres going to be 24 teams in it and 16 would probably go through to the knockouts, making the groups boring.

First one is Michel Platini is complete tool.

Secone thought is this - Lets spin this around on its head completely, why not have Euro 2020 hosted in the Fareo Islands, using just one stadium and get the whole thing bottomed in just one weekend?

I like your style. To make it even simpler, maybe do it by a single penalty shootout.

My thought is that they will probably make more money with twelve bidding wars than with one, so they will probably do it.
