Every man for himself affair
Someone on twitter earlier called for the first minute of this game to be posted on youtube if anyone had it (with someone calling it "the football version of Saving Private Ryan", and TSB just put up this 13-second clip.

How many times would the whistle have gone if those challenges had flown in today, and how many cards would have been shown? Commitment as football should see more often these days.

Anyone been at this game and remember the context/further details?

I wasn't born for another 6/7 years so I don't remember that game. But watching it now, phwaawww, those tackles - how football should be played, back then it was a man's game.

That's football. That's how it was played and that's how everyone played it from the Sunday Leagues to the old First Division.

It was bloody fantastic
