Hi all, just to let you know that the book is available to order directly from me on www.dirtyleeds.net (thank you, Bogdan ) in case anyone wants it but can't get to a real shop
It will be on Amazon soon and in other retail outlets as well, Waterstones have it exclusively at the moment but it won't be for long.
Could I ask you Twitter-afficianados for some help now please? I'm wanting to tell the world about the Friday book launch as well as the book being available directly from me now. And I would love it, LOVE IT, if we could somehow get 'Dirty Leeds Uncut' trending on the worldwide Twitter plane. Anyone think there's even a remote chance of that?
Would appreciate any good knowhow, thanks again for reading.
As always, 10% of ANY orders is going to Candlelighters.

In my experience (limited as it is) you need it up and available on Amazon BEFORE Twitterising it - most people have an account on Amazon and it's going Kindle, most have that reader. Suggest we await your confirmation that the Kindle and book are both on Amazon then a few of us can use Twitter to try to push it. Again, my experience is that there is only a very short Twitter window for interest.

Thanks Dave, your experience, limited though it is , is a damned sight better and less limited than my own! Do you mean actually posting an Amazon link in the tweet?
Ideally, people would order it directly from www.dirtyleeds.net - Amazon take an almighty cut as you know - but it should be on Amazon later this week. Kindle and e-versions are being formulated this week too.
Your advice is much appreciated mate

I know what you mean about the Amazon take but I find that people are comfortable using Amazon as most already have an account with them. But my main concern is that you don't want to build interest to a peak until it is instantly available everywhere - I know you want interest for the launch occasion and that is fine now, but for actually selling the book on line it needs to be available on Amazon in all formats at the time most publicity gets dispersed - there is no bigger let down than seeing a tweet about it, folk deciding "I'll have that" then logging into Amazon and not being able to get it! The whole thing will then more than likely go out of their minds forever! Hence, once it is available in all channels I think that is the best time people like me can help - and we can tweet and try to get re tweets for the Amazon link AND the www.dirtyleeds.net link. (Ideally by including it in tweets) I just think if I was to try to help now and any of my followers (who are let's face it, mostly Leeds fans) decide to go Amazon we lose any chance of you selling, if I tweet again about it later folk will not even look at it!
I also found that advertising on Facebook seemed to work for me - it doesn't need to be expensive and it is targetted - I tend to spend as little as £20 a time every few months doing that. Linked In have a similar facility too but I haven't used that.
I will stick a link to your dirty Leeds website on my web when I get chance.

I don't have any experience with FB or LinkedIn advertising at all, BUT from what I gather even people who use LinkedIn regularly (for its intended purpose of professional networking) don't really find it that rewarding anymore - I doubt it would fit the purpose. Facebook much more likely to give a return.
Some wise and sensible words by DLW there with regards to waiting until it's available to give it a real push. Some mentions of the book launch in itself might not hurt though, just to make people aware of it. If you're not shy, Rob, the usual plea to a popular source like Paul Dews or The Square Ball for a RT would do nicely (if fulfilled). There's no bigger audience than those two probably. Again, with just a link to the facebook page.
After that, I'm keen to see the kind of tweeting that we can put out there about this. Getting catchy, useful information in just 120 characters (any shortened link will swallow 20 immediately) is a b!***! I struggled to fit the title, event, time and link in one earlier.

I have added a page to my website http://dlw10.wix.com/inpursuitofthepremiership#!
with a link to your Dirty Leeds web. Have a look and make sure there is not anything you don't like - click on the Dirty Leeds tab.
It will be useful to me as I can then tweet about the fact there is a new link and hence a reason for folk to visit my site again.
Once it is on Amazon I could add that link as well with something like "Or go straight to Amazon for a Kindle version"

Very wise words, thank you both.
Dave, please remind me in a couple of weeks about your Facebook ad experience, I didnt know you'd used it, could have saved me a bit of messing around a couple of weeks ago

Having just tried (and completely failed sorry Rob!!) to tweet about the book signing, one of the problems is "After Extra Time - Dirty Leeds Uncut!" takes up 40 characters on its own! Doesn't leave many characters for any information and links
Rob, can we agree a shortened title to promote book (and signing tomorrow)? Just 'Dirty Leeds Uncut' or 'Dirty Leeds Extra Time' maybe?

Too lazy to search, but I did one the other day, and Dave one yesterday, so it's not impossible.

Not impossible, no, just blooming difficult. Which is okay for those of us who want to help out Rob enough but not for any other Leeds fan who wants to share the information...!
