Re: Coronavirus

Look mate I pay taxes, that is actually a fact . I also know we would all like a £10k gift to spend on what we want (from the same people we pay our taxes to). The £10k gift was to support business not to spend on luxury items. That is what happened, nothing else, no argument just fact I pay taxes ...

I can understand why someone would say that,
So can I because it's right.
Would you care to expand on your argument?

Re: Coronavirus

Not a lot of sympathy for me when people abuse the system its our money (taxpayers) after all. I can understand why someone would say that, after all that's what we've all been told forever, isn't it, it's the standard narrative but it's simply not true. The UK government doesn't take the money it ...

Re: Coronavirus

The one they really need to get sorted in massive amounts, is the test to see whether you have had it already. I appreciate it gives no absolute guarantee that you won’t get it again, but it’s unlikely from what all the medics have said. I got one of these antigen tests in the post a few weeks back...

Re: Coronavirus

To an extent I agree this would've been a trying time for any PM but the way they've handled certain things has been appalling, from the initial delayed lockdown to today's absolute clusterfudge with the retraining advertisement withdrawal. I'm not going to go on a rant - you all know my leanings b...

Re: Coronavirus

We booked a week in Scotland for the end of the month back in July. We thought it's only Scotland we'll be alright  Obviously with the recent events we've cancelled it. We had also booked a trip at the end of the month to see family in Glasgow then travel on to Oban. The flights were cancelle...

Re: Coronavirus

We are heading for an economic crisis & mass unemployment as well. There is no need for either of those things to come to pass but, if they do, they will be the result of political decisions. The furloughing to be continued how an earth can we afford to do this ? Serious question: what makes yo...

Re: Coronavirus

There's loads down here too, in a city with two major uni's and 40,000+ students from all over the world it's not surprising. Anyone who's worked at a university will tell you about "Freshers' Flu" because just about everyone on campus gets ill during October because of the melting pot of...
