I don't think he did, Davy. From the Docs I've seen he was more of an actor with an amazing voice. Jim Steinman, on the other hand, took himself incredibly seriously.

I grew up really disliking Bat Out Of Hell (and Rocky Horror) but always liked Meat Loaf, he seemed great fun and a really interesting character - outrageous but not offensive. Sort of reminded me of Lemmy but funnier.
