Is it just a coincidence that a funeral costs advert is on the bottom of the clip :P

Just back from a cracking 5 nights in Scotland, we were based at a hotel near Cumbernauld (Westerwood Golf and Spa resort) which was ideal for touring around.

Weather was very kind to us, sunny most of the time.

Was able to get train from Croy station (5 mins from hotel) into Stirling one day and also to Edinburgh on a different day which saved a bit of driving.
Did use the car on the other days, one to tour around Loch Lommond visiting various places (plus boat trip), fantastic scenary.
The final day we toured around visiting a number of historical sites (girlfriend is into that sort of thing), had bought passes from Scotland historical society which gave us free access to numerous sites (including Edinburgh & Stirling Castle), was £29 and saved us quite a bit of cash.

On the downside on wednesday someone decided to set the hotel fire alarm off at 5am and we all had to evacuate while the all clear was called by the fire service.

Haha, you never know it has been discussed among a few other places for next year (we both are travel addicts and love visiting places we've not been). Next trip is Madeira (soon) then off to America doing route 61 (Chicago to New Orleans via St Louis and Memphis).

Madeira is a beautiful island you have to hire a car or take an excursion to see the interior as in parts it's quiet stunning. Enjoy SW ;)

Thanks NW, it does look beautiful from the photos I've seen and although we are not planning to hire a car we have been looking at excurrsions to various parts of the island. As well as the usual coach routes we've been looking at Jeep tours and also possibly doing one of the many guided walks.
