Re: The blabla of the forum
I'm away on hols from Tuesday so not sure if I will get on here again before we leave. We are in Canada for a couple of weeks doing the Rocky Mountain thing, Bamph, Jasper, Lake Louise, Vancouver and then we fly across to Montreal for the Grand Prix. Keep the posts short for the next few weeks folk...and maybe I'll be able to keep up to speed!

We visited the Grand Prix circuit last year & was amazed how small it was. There's a bus stop at the end of the circuit for the workers in the offices but when the GP is on they cover it overdlw10 wrote:I'm away on hols from Tuesday so not sure if I will get on here again before we leave. Bloody fantastic.
Just been told I've been made redundant. Now on notice to leave on 27th June.
I'm 50 on 10th June, what's the chance of me getting another job at my age?

When you retire, you switch bosses - from the one that hired you, to the one that married you.

Stay positive 50 ain't old and some employers prefer experience.

But, age is no barrier these days (unlike it might well have been 20 years, or so, ago?).
Lots of employers, these days, are looking for 'older' employees, as they have more experience (of work & life in general) and, with respect to younger generations, are often (not always) more reliable.
Anyways good luck and best wishes mate.

Good luck WW. 50 is the new 40 so they say. Hopefully something comes up soon and changes your life for the better. Things like this always brings Bob Marley's 'Coming in from the Cold' song lyrics to mind. 'When one door is closed, many more are open.'
