RIP Brian Close. Just read his (full page) obituary in the Telegraph. As the old saying goes, 'we will never see his like again'.
I once played against Don Revie.

Mr Russell wrote:RIP Brian Close, I still remember the West Indies bouncing him in the 76 series, a real tough old fashioned cricketer.
I remember him getting hit in his chest and refusing to rub it as he thought it was a sign of weakness.
Amazing stuff.

RIP Brian Close

I always liked Denis Healey, RIP to man who made mistakes but was genuine, unlike th vast majority of politicians nowadays.

Mrs Barlow has just commented that now Mr Healey has died, I will have the longest eyebrows in the UK

I remember in the 1950's walking through Leeds City Station concourse when who should walk the other way but Denis Healey. He had a big grin on his face and was looking from side to side as though everyone should be kow-towing to him. I looked around but no one was taking any notice! Must admit, he was one of the better MP's and deserves the title 'a Labour legend.'
