He was like marmite Bristow. Old fashioned mans man, didn't bow down to political correctness and said it how he knew it. Great Darts player, with great belief in his own ability. Used to like the story when he would tell his opponents that he had already booked them a Taxi for when he had beaten them. Another time he was playing Jockey Wilson and a can of beer was thrown, just missing him and he just carried on.

Charisma in abundance R.I.P Eric

I started playing darts in 1981 and played till the mid 90's.

Eric was the baddie as being Scottish wee Jocky Wilson was our favourite.

Give Eric his due he had the forsight to start the PDC along with others and he will always be remembered for that.

RIP Eric.

Yeah, I liked Jocky too but my favourite in them days was John Lowe, he just seemed to be like Ray Reardon, a champ and a gent at the same time. I didn't like Bristow (or n Bobby George) then but Eric's dart-play was astonishingly good and he was genuinely funny too I thought. I played darts a lot as a kid but stopped when women, beer and video games took over in my head

John Lambie ex Hamilton and Partick Thistle manager dies aged 77.

BBC scotland made a programme following him as Thistle manager, well worth viewing to see how he managed in the 80s,90s, and 00s.

Dont think todays over paid players would take to him.

Former Australian sports commentator Darrell Eastlake has died aged 75, he had a very energetic voice and did sports like the State of Origin rugby league, motor sports and Olympic/Commonwealth games. He was on the Wide World of Sports and even the 12th man Billy Birmingham did his voice on one of his shows, RIP.
