The Cricket Thread
Re: The Cricket Thread
Another interesting character who's headstone caught my attention whilst out walking the dog in Layton Cemetery. As a Cricketer, Cricket fan it doesn't come much better than having your name immortalised on that famous of all Cricket trophies. The Ashes Urn. He was also a football referee. Anyway resurrected for the day.

Re: The Cricket Thread
The England players must be gutted but were putting a brave face on it saying "well we knew the rules from the beginning etc." The organisers definitely took their eye off the ball on this on. It really is shame but hopefully they'll sort it out for next timeNottinghamWhite wrote:What a farcical situation in Australia where England are knocked out of the World Cup without a ball bowled. Why wasn’t there a reserve day set aside ? Feel sorry for the players.

Shame India have collapsed way too one sided imho. A crowd of 80000+ is exceptional though.

It won't be mourned down here if it doesn't go ahead, NW. Our nearest team isn't even in the same country let alone the same county.NottinghamWhite wrote:https://www.theguardian.com/sport/2020/ ... -cut-short

Looks like there won't be a county championship this season. To be honest I'll be surprised if the season starts at all!
