According to Lizzie Ammon aka Legside Lizzie on Twitter The Rose Bowl in Southampton is set to be confirmed as a 2023 Ashes venue alongside Lords, The Oval, Old Trafford and Edgbaston. Trent Bridge and Headingley to miss out. Article also says that Lords expects to keep 2 Tests per summer even with the reduced number played.

Aussies should knock them off comfortably. Bit of a tame effort by England.

Re: The Cricket Thread
Tuesday the ECB will announce the 8 venues they'll be using for the new city t20 tournament. I'm guessing that these will be the venues.
London North - Lords
London South - The Oval
South - Ageas Bowl
Wales & West - Sophia Gardens
West Midlands - Edgbaston
East Midlands - Trent Bridge
North East - Headingley
North West - Old Trafford
There will some sharing of games for example in the North East Yorkshire & Durham & in the Wales & West group Glamorgan & Somerset. It's also emerged that the ECB will not give any of the 8 teams a title incorporating the cities, counties or venues in their names. Personally I don't like the idea of Hampshire becoming one of the 8 but I think it's well known that Bransgrove will make sure they are.
Given teams will have no identity as such I can't see where a fan base can be created. Also those teams that will be sharing games will they less of the pot than those who have the games exclusively ? Does anyone know if teams like Kent will receive any share.
Personally im not looking forward to it, the t20 competition we currently have works & the crowds pack the grounds to see their counties in action, will this run alongside the new competition ?
Obviously the ECB believe this will work but I fear it'll be the end of red ball cricket as we know it.
Thoughts anyone ?
