England need 385 to win the first Test today, personally I think it’s too many. How good is Steve Smith ?

If the Aus bowlers get as little movement out of the ball as England's did yesterday then there has to be a decent chance IMHO.

Going to be a fascinating days cricket, going to need plenty of players be prepared to fight for their wicket.

Smith has been amazing. Take note England's batters!

For those of you who aren’t aware of the complete carnage Steve Smith has wreaked since playing against us six years ago, here’s a few chilling stats;

* Steve Smith is now level with Steve Waugh on 10 Ashes centuries. Only Don Bradman (19) and Jack Hobbs (12) have more
* Smith's past six Ashes innings read 239, 76, 102*, 83, 144 and 142. He is only the second player after Mike Hussey to score six consecutive Ashes fifties
* Smith moved up to 18th in the all-time Ashes run-scorers list after 24 Tests. No other player in this series is in the top 50
* Since making his first Ashes century at The Oval in 2013, Smith averages 78.12 in 17 Tests against England..

He’s a monster..

They are some stats NW, ridiculously good.

He will always be tainted by the ball tampering affair, which a real shame when you see stats like that.

What a shambles we are. We have no openers, our middle-order can only play the short-form of the game and we haven't got any spinners. Where was Leach when we needed him?
I once played against Don Revie.
