Spain especially away from the coast there’s some wonderful medieval towns and villages off the tourist track. Cities Seville and Cadiz are lovely places to visit.
Norway the fjords are so scenic and I particularly like Bergen. The only downside is the price of a beer which is ridiculous.
Romania rural areas are wonderful where crops grow with the aid of fertilisers hence you have corn fields with beautiful sunflowers growing in them. Milk is still delivered by horse and cart to the villages. The mountain areas are excellent as well.
Interesting CW as two of the Spanish Cities still on my wish list are Seville & Cadiz add to that we had Romania on our planning list prior to lockdown.
For me the two favourite European Cities I've visited so far are Budapest & Berlin.
Country wise have enjoyed most but returns to different areas of both Italy & Croatia are on the cards.
I've a interest in former Eastern Block countries and so far been to Hungary & Croatia already mentioned along with Czech Rep, Slovenia, Montenegro & Bosnia (just for a day)so plenty still to go at.

Eastern bloc you say we have been to Russia, Lithuania, Poland, Estonia, Bulgaria, Romania & to an area that was once in East Germany. My favourite place was St Petersburg a city we’ve visited twice for a total of 4 days.
Yugoslavia (as was), so Serbia and Croatia - didn't get to the other bits I don't think. Slovenia which had just become independent. USSR, so Belorussia, Russia and Ukraine (I think). Also Berlin, but that was a year after the wall had fallen.
Three favourite countries in no particular order are Greece, Sweden ( in particular the Stockholm archipelago) & Italy ( for the food, culture & scenery such as Tuscany )
Thinking back to my childhood and a love for geography it wasn't the normal for people to travel and I could only dream of the opportunity I've had in life to visit so many places in recent years.
The Eastern Block/Iron Curtain is a prime example.
Covid of course as put everything thing on hold, dare I say put the clock back to my early years when average families only had chance to go to one or two Mediterranean destinations.
Still its how it is and I for one are in no rush to jump on a plane but at the same time looking forward to it one day becoming the normal again, life is too short not to try fullfill your dreams.

My interest in geography/travel was as a kid & stamp collecting Suomi, Siam, Ceylon, Sverige & Jugoslavija all spring to mind. Postage stamps always held a fascination for me as a young lad they even named me Phil(ately )

Just booked another of our "race across the world" inspired trips (UK only currently) for September.
So its back packing on the train doing a big loop visiting Stafford (never been), Leamington Spa, London & Lincoln. Couple of nights in each (3 in London). Be interesting to see if the trains are busier following freedom day.
