No Mate, it’s a word I’d never heard of
NW, you must be too young to remember the film about the 'Dunmow Flitch'? Not sure, but I think Kenneth More was in it. I remember seeing the film at the Lyceum cinema in Cardigan Road. So I got it straight away! :D

Just had an engineer from EON fitting Smart meters for our Gas & Electric supplies.

Signed up for it as the offered us significant reduced tariffs for 2 years if we had them fitted so it was a no brainer in my opinion.
Sort of part of the Job I did at work looking at costs of various plants/machines in a large factory so quite interesting although can't really see it convincing us to use less. Lets face it we cook when we are going to eat, we put the heating on when its cold and the lights on when its dark and none of that will change.

Beautiful day here in Berkshire. Just mowed my front lawn and did some minor pruning of shrubs. Am agreeably knackered. Thought about doing the back lawn too but will leave it 'till tomorrow.

Niagara Falls lit up in Leeds colours.
A Leeds United fan in USA persuaded the Mayor of Niagara to switch the floodlights to Leeds colours, White, blue and yellow, to celebrate promotion to premiership.
There's a video on BBC sport and youtube.

Apparently, one of the downsides is that if you change supplier, the meter will be incompatible. Letter in the Telegraph this morning from a guy who says he has changed supplier several times and his smart meter monitor stopped working and he has to have his meter read.
