Neither.
I think it's because they're the only two teams with unique suffixes in the league.
Loads of citys and uniteds and a few rovers and towns, but none have those two apart from Crewe and Plymouth.
I once successfully got my Sunday league club renamed Real Causequest
We got sponsored by a local building firm and had a meeting about it all and I just started barking "Inter Causequest" .. "Dynamo .. " "Lokomotiv .." "AC .." "Borussia Monchen Causequest .." .. you get the idea. I then finally said "Real Causequest" and stood up when I did so (in the pub) and they all looked at each other and said "Yeah, that's not bad .. " I was totally joking. The kit we had was purple and black stripes with gold trim, and black shorts and socks with gold trim. We were bling that year

If I don't give the answer now, then there is a danger that I will forget I ever posted it.
What they have in common is that in both cases, the second part of their names ie - Argyle and Alexander, were the original names of both clubs. Argyle FC and Alexander FC.
