I have been attempting the General Knowledge Crossword in the 'Puzzles plus' section. I know they have been setting them for a few months now but some of the questions are getting more obscure as the weeks go by.
Few examples from today.
Richard Nixon's second Secretary of State (9)
2000 Olympic men's trap shooting silver medallist (3,4)
1996 US Republican Party presidential candidate (3,4)
1957 novel by Vladimir Nabokov (4)
In Greek mythology, the daughter of Minos, who fell in love with her stepson Hippolytus. (7)
I only resort to Wiki when I concede defeat.

Frank Skinner has a rule about Googling : if you know it but haven't forgotten it, don't - it'll come back to you .. eventually.
If you don't know, do because you'll be learning something.

It doesn't help I know but the shooting silver medalist in 2000 was from Yorkshire.johnh wrote:I have been attempting the General Knowledge Crossword in the 'Puzzles plus' section. I knew someone who shot clays with him locally, was always on about beating an Olympic medalist, think he did once.
Not a clue to his name.

Been informed by my GP that my PSA level is almost zero meaning the treatments have been successful. So on a bit of a high at the moment and we'll be having a bottle of bubbly tonight.
