We've no water this morning and the pavement across the road is now a lake with a fountain spouting from it.
Yorkshire Water supposed to coming by 9am to repair.

Taking Mrs SW to York hospital this morning as she is having a minor op on her leg. Shouldn't involve an overnight stay.

Thanks John.

Its certainly a long opportunity to water the lawn, Yorkshire Water still haven't turned up and now are promising to have it sorted by 8pm.

Mrs SW who I was told could be picked up at 4.30pm didn't go to theatre until around that time, just phoned, not back on the ward yet and latest estimate can be released is 8pm.

Its going to be a long day.

A few weeks ago a lady delivering church leaflets came into our cul-de-sac & looked like she was suffering heat exhaustion. My wife went out to her & gave a large glass of iced water &'a cold bottle of water. Anyway this afternoon the lady in question knocked on our door & handed my wife a box of Thorntons chocolates. She said my wife had been a Good Samaritan & she had tried to handover the chocolates on several occasions but we had been out. My wife was suprised & pleased to receive the gift telling the lady ( we now know her name is Marian )she really didn't have to butt thank you

Great gesture that, I'm not the religious type and tend to think that even if that lady wasn't she'd still do the same thing. You are either a good person or you're not whether you follow a god or not. I'm sure Marian is one of those lovely people that just happens to have a belief .... a nice story that.

I got 2 x £25 in August, paid them in this morning. When Premium Bonds first came out (early 1960's from memory), we had a syndicate at work. We owned 12 bonds (in my name) and as people left the firm I bought them out. After a while, I owned all the bonds. Still got them and they have never won a bean!
