My foot has been up since last night as I turned on my ankle pretty badly yesterday. Fortunately it's neither broken nor fractured but have damaged some soft tissue. 2 weeks off work was suggested but I'm already bored

In a little while, John comes back into the shop laughing hysterically. The barber says, "this must be good, where did he go when he left here?"

Did naff all yesterday and iced up every couple of hours, not too bad today so going to walk to town and back to see how it feels after that.

If ok may strap up and go to Pontefract this afternoon for a practice (usually do tuesdays) can always drop out if I feel it.
Optimistic will be ok for thursday's match we are already two other players down (feels like Leeds Utd).

About 20 odd years ago I did some research into a cousin who was a pilot in the RAF during WW2. He was killed in 1944 in an air accident (not active service). I didn't get very far but recently came across a guy who specialises in this sort of thing. He was brilliant and actually came up with and sent me a copy of, the crash incident report. The aircraft crashed near Melton Mowbray in Leicestershire. It was during a storm, the plane shed a propeller due to metal fatigue (they found the prop several hundred yards from the crash site which indicated it came adrift 'in flight'). The report also mentioned that an overdue service (3 months) hadn't been carried out, nor had a pre-flight check been carried out. Verdict of report: Pilot error! Still, dead men can't defend themselves and it enabled the file to be put away in the archives. He was 21 years old.

I don't think my uncle, his father, could have seen this report. If he had, I think he would have kicked up a stink. He died in his 50's from on-going complications from being gassed in WW1.

Overdue service, still a common cause of aviation accidents. If anyone is interested the Air Accident Investigation Branch AAIB produce monthly accident reports which are accessable by the public. Aviation safety managers such as myself will sift these reports to see incidents involving the types of aircraft they operate and destinations the regularly route to.
