A member of possibly the most influential band of all time.
Sad to see he's passed on. A huge part of my life through VU and solo.
Saw him live and his band was brutal and totally amazing.
Thoughts go to Mrs R, Laurie Anderson.
RIP Lou - you changed the course of music and certainly enriched my life.
Giving Berlin a run out. His finest post VU album, bleak, moving and somehow appropriate.

Re: Lou Reed
I'll second that. Great man and a huge influence on music.
Re: Lou Reed
I'm absolutely stunned by this sad news, we forget legends such as Lou are older than us. Reed was a pioneer of rock music I had the pleasure of seeing the great man many moons ago.
RIP Lou

Re: Lou Reed
His music was not to everyone's taste but I agree that he has been an icon of rock music & no doubt influenced many younger musicians.
Walk on the wild side, Lou.

Apparently he was tee-total and a vegan for the past 30 years ...
Never a fan of the Velvets - I just dislike art rock as a genre generally and Nico's voice was like a droning air raid warning at half speed, but I did enjoy some of the later stuff. I've actually got 6 of his solo LPs

Re: Lou Reed
I was never a huge fan either - BUT I have to say there are a few tracks featuring Nico's vocals that still send shivers down my spine. She had a haunting unforgettable voice on occasions!rigger wrote:Apparently he was tee-total and a vegan for the past 30 years ...
