Winter weather forecast

Post by dlw10 »

Oh dear. Just been reading about the latest long-range weather forecast. they reckon it could be one of the coldest on record with loads of snow! That will play havoc with the football travel plans!

Oh dear if its that bad then let the train take the strain as a famous or infamous yorshireman once said.

At this rate East Coast should give me my own personal train lol

Long hard winter ahead

Post by NottinghamWhite »

Looking at the long term forecast for the UK it looks like we are in for a hard winter, some are saying the worst in almost 50 years.

I can't remember a winter when this wasn't said in the lead up to it. They're never that bad, especially not compared to serious winters like they get in mainland europe when it's like -30 degrees for several months.

I hope not my tyres on the car are legal just about and I don't fancy travelling half a mile of country lanes to get to the nearest gritted roads!!

Ahhhh that explains why I started seeing gritting trucks here back in October.

It's so that Nottingham City Council can say they've run out of grit (blame the coalition) even though they've been splashing the stuff around merrily in the past few days unnecessarily.
Might have to take an interest in the Premier League now....
