Ouch

Post by Selby White »

For my sins I'm currently in pain with tennis elbow, started hurting after the weekend.
Hurts to even pick up a cuppa.

Had it once before about ten years ago and lasted about 4 months hopefully not so long this time.

Blaming playing table football on Sunday.

I know how you feel mate, I have a 'permanent' dislocated elbow and it can be painful at times.

It has given me a party trick though. As a consequence of the above, my elbow bone sticks out at my elbow. Once I have had a few drinks to numb the pain, I can slam my elbow down on the table and the bone pops back into place for a while :P.

Never had tennis elbow, but I have had frozen shoulder twice - one on either side.

If it's anything like that, it can take two years to heal and there's not much you can do until it does .. nature takes its own course sometimes :(

Man, elbow pain is horrible but I'm lucky compared to you guys. Having said that, I chipped my left elbow at a gig in the mid 80s and the dint in the bone is still there. Ouch that really hurt and for some time after too.

My shoulders are like snap, crackle and pop on a morning but my trapped nerve problem sounds nowhere near as painful as what you lot are going through. Keep Fighting.

Ive had pain in my trapezius (sp) muscle constantly now for a few years. I've tried everything known to medical research but despite spending a kings ransom nothing works. Alcohol is the only cure

I tore that muscle a few years ago, Phil, I still get the odd twinge but it's nothing compared to the pain of it then - weird thing was I didn't know I'd done it, I just had a constant pain there which I put down to 'overdoing' it - I'd lifted a steel bargate on to a security door and it was heavier than I anticipated.

Anyway, physio got rid of the problem eventually - I think Rigger mentioned this ages ago - the physio gave me exercises to do along with stretchy, rubbery material to pull at specific angles with the affected arm. It worked. I still do some of the exercises for my not so good hip and neck problems. Did you try physio for your muscle pain?

No Mate but I've seen a specialist pain guy at least he instantly knew what it was rather than the others who just attacked it, went privately as well not cheap.
