Only watched some of the frames in the middle but would have backed Wilson.

Do like the format with the top 16 only in it, any match can go either way. Think best of 11 is great too one match per session.
Agree, a cracking format, although I do like to see some of the lesser known players, particularly live at the tournaments.

David Gilbert is one of my more favoured players, just doesn’t seem to believe in himself sometimes.

I'm not a lover of Higgins going back to his match fixing, should have been banned for life imho.
Must admit though he was unplayable last night.

Any chance we could make a proper Snooker thread for people that like it?

In the nine frames between Higgins and O'Sullivan I don't think there was much more than 3 'poor shots' between them. Can't remember any tournament where such a high standard has been present for the whole match. Pots going in the middle of the pockets too!
I once played against Don Revie.

It was absolutely phenomenal Sir John, I’ve never seen anything like it.

Out loud, I said 'oh dear' when I read that the referee and TMO for the England v Wales rugby match were both Frenchmen. How prescient was that?

Castleford Tigers take on St Helens in the cup final today, not the biggest rugby fan but will be hoping Cas can win it although will be underdogs.

Followed Cas home and away without missing a game for 11 years, including Paris twice. Struggled to cope going to both the football and rugby, so gave the rugby up, like you I’ll be hoping Cas win.
