being interested in exotic birds (the feathered kind, & the lesser spotted Blake Lively) I read an article a few years back about how Indian ring necks had set up colonies in the south east of England. Apparently they now have been spotted as far north as Scotland. Wonder when the first LUFCTALK spotting will be?

There's a flock of approximately 20 here at Wollaton Park but the way they breed there will probably be 4 times that number this year. There's a roost at Esher Rugby Club where numbers roosting regularly hit 1500 plus.

I lived in Twickenham for a few years and regularly saw them in the garden.

Hope for us here yet. Although releasing them isn't right in the first place #mixedfeelings

You doubted moi

Seriously back to how fast they breed I read something awhile ago along the same vein. In 1956 a pair of collared doves bred in Kent, I think & from that pair we have the numbers there are today.

We have them in the trees around Maidenhead, noisy little beggars they are.

Will be plenty of well fed birds around here.

Have been along the canal and somebody has put lots of bird feeders (fat balls, seeds, nuts, etc) in the trees along one stretch. I'd estimate 50+ feeders all well stocked. Plenty of variety's of birds having a feast.

Sounds like a Good Samaritan at work there SW. Our feeders are once again devoid of any action, like that for a few weeks now but there's no action on any of the neighbours feeders either.
