Our feeders aren't getting much use at all. We do have a pair of pigeons that try to get food but they're so fat they struggle to balance. I think the main problem is that every house around has feeders so there's too much choice.

Thanks MW good link that, we are getting a few different varieties this year so can put it to use.
Her indoors is pretty clued up on then also and suspect the offending bird was a sparrow hawk.

On another note we've got a wren building a nest in our bird box, first time a bird has used it for about 10 years.

Me either, lucky you, stunning bird.

We have several Buzzards around the hangar which are beautiful, we're at the end of the airport and sit in the countryside. The airport also has the largest population of Irish hares which no doubt attracts them as well.

Sue was looking out of the front lounge window & said there's a really big gull drifting towards the house, luckily I was in the kitchen & as I stepped outside it just drifted over my head at tree height. We live about a mile away from some wetlands & The Trent so we're in a ideal spot. Still got a huge grin on my face :D

Wow, and to think they were once an endangered species. Guess they must like the Attenborough nature reserve near you.

We had a green woodpecker in the garden the other day - such striking colours
Might have to take an interest in the Premier League now....
