We have blackbirds nest in our garden every year. Her indoors feeds them with mealworms. The problem is, we have to keep the Woodpigeons, feral pigeons, Magpies, Starlings and Jackdaws away or the Blackbirds would get nothing. We always have a couple of Robins but they manage to look after themselves.

We stayed just outside Harrogate a couple of weeks ago in a log cabin in a small wooded area. It was great to watch some real birds again as the owners had feeders just off the cabin. The only one i had to look up was the Nuthatch. Very effective beak.

They will be lucky to escape the Rats attention. Very strange to change from their natural habitat. Cambridgeshire does have trees and bushes doesn't it?

I'd say first year mating birds as they are most likely to make such a mistake.

The cat brought this poor wee thing to the door this morning.

Well after all our perseverance we are starting to get birds at the feeders. A family of Goldfinch ( is there a prettier bird ? ) House Sparrows, Blackbirds, Great Tits, Blue Tits & Coal Tits, Starlings, Dunnocks, Wren, Robins, Magpies & Pigeons. This gives my wife & I lots of pleasure so pleased we stuck with it.

Swallows, sparrows and collard doves here, if you include the nearby show then there’s bald eagles, buzzards and owls as well as the obligatory macaws and other assorted parrots.

Magnificent! We've had all of those here plus a pair of bullfinches, but not this year so far. Our favourites are the green and red woodpeckers, although both also scarce at the moment.
