Take a Hike

Post by Selby White »

Any other members on here into Walking ?

Just wondered my and my better half enjoy getting out and about on various treks (often including picnic lunch and Pub meal on way home).

Some cracking scenery there SW. The building in SD10372, I'm sure I've saw it on TV in a few drama series but can't think which ones.

I love hiking Selby. Managed to do each of the 3 Yorkshire peaks over the winter months. Beautiful when they're covered in snow. A few weeks ago I did all 3 together with a friend in under 8 1/2 hours.
I also did a lot of hiking around Canada and USA last year. The Franconia Trail in New Hampshire was probably the highlight. I'll try put some photos up on here when I'm on the laptop.

It's looking a photographs like those that make me so proud of my heritage. When I was younger I did a lot of walking on Dartmoor doing the North to South walk ( 25 miles ) & actually managed over a period of time the perambulation of Dartmoor. The one thing you soon realise is you don't buy cheap walking boots.

I went to post a letter. Post box is about 200 yards from our front door. Did 400 yards and had to have a sit down. No fun this getting old.

Used to walk the moors a couple of times a week. Loved North Dartmoor much more rugged than the chocolate box South. We used to park up passing by Cranmere Pool & onto Fur Tor. Hard going in places with a bit of bog hopping as we called it but the end result made it all worth while.
