Roger federer is someone I really admire; in an era of power players he just just oozed pure class for me, and I reckon elite male tennis players are among the very fittest people in the world. He must have been so dedicated throughout his career. Its a shame he didn't quit at the top and is now struggling to compete, guess it's hard to give up a way of life.

I honestly can't think of many non-footballing personalities that have really had an impact on me.

So I'll plump for Princess Anne :shifty:

Boxing - Rocky Marciano (49 not out)

Golf - Nick Faldo (for his determination, not most talented but got himself to no1)

Tennis - Bjorn Borg (best of his generation, well my generation)

Athletics - Daley Thompson (attitude, loved it when he answered the question "why do you train xmas day" answered "because my rivals don't")

Snooker - Alex Higgins (proved technique wasn't everything in a game full of robots)
