The Wife's birthday on Friday. Usually we would have gone out during my nights off, but instead we're trying out the raclette grill thingy we got a couple of months ago. Have got steak, new potatoes, spring onions, bacon and lots of different cheeses to cook on it. And the obligatory bottles of wine to wash it down.

We love raclette and there's a special raclette cheese that you can buy, althoough it's a bit elusive. I think Waitrose have it.

We put mushrooms, ham and even smoked salmon under the slices of cheese and wait for it to go a bit brown. Yum!

My daughters 7th birthday today. We asked what she wanted for a special dinner and named out all her favourites...

She ignored them all, and so we're having (badly) homemade pizza

She's delighted though, because she makes a huge mess in the process
