Lamb casserole here too, though with a different slant, having been most kindly introduced to the art of Middle Eastern spicing by the chef in our local Lebanese eatery.

Punjabi tomato curry with chicken. Naan bread, mango chutney ( hot & spicy from Tiptree ) & rice. This is a dish we’ve never tried before but are looking forward to it. We use a mix called Spice Tailor available from most supermarkets it’s excellent highly recommend to those that like a little spice in their lives.

Today was a holiday here in the States, Columbus Day, day off work.
Weather was terrible, 50deg, 20-25 mph wind out of the North, on and off rain, cold damp.
Plan was to fish low tide on an open rocky beach in the morning, trying to connect with the last of the striped bass before their fall migration heading south for the winter, also use the low water opportunity to collect some small crabs for an afternoon session in my local river estuary for rockfish. Morning went OK, couple of small bass and enough crabs for a couple of hours fishing later. Afternoon from a small pier was very good, caught 8 rockfish, 4 of legal size to take. I only took 1 releasing the rest. Myself and most of the guys I fish with are very conservation minded, only take a fish occasionaly, let them make more babies for the healthy future stocks. So driving home I thought I would clean the fish and let my wife do her thing. When I arrived home she had already cooked dinner early. She had cooked some fish called 'Scup', a small tasty fish, bottom feeder, we get them on sandworm or small pieces of squid.
Pieces no thicker than a slice of bread, deep fried in a spicy Cajun batter, cooked till nearly crispy, with thick wedges of chips and a salad.
Scup are so small that it's very wasteful to try fillet them, we just open them up, butterfly we call it, when we fry them, then eat with our fingers.
Apart from the weather, a decent day, save the rockfish for another day.
