The Masters
The Masters
For the first time in several years I'm actually enjoying the Masters golf. Looking forward to watching over the weekend, anyone else?

Usually don't bother until the last round, out most of Sunday but should catch the closing holes.

Re: The Masters
Love watching the Masters, just a shame the BBC only show two days instead of all four.
Felt for Sergio on Thursday as he ran up a 13 at the par 5 15th hole.

Settling down with a nice bottle of Malbec and the Masters on TV. Rooting for Rory (no prizes for guessing that) but am expecting him to do his usual 3rd round collapse, hope not.

Don't particularly like Reed but he thoroughly deserved his win. Kept his cool under immense pressure. Rory couldn't putt, end of.
I once played against Don Revie.

Re: The Masters
On that note do we have any Golfers on here ?
How good are you ?
I've had 3 attempts at the game for between 5 and 10 years each time.
First time in my 30's and got handicap down to 14.
2nd time in my 40's actually got down to 11
Had another go in my early 50's and only got to 17.
Always wanted to get to a single figure handicap just never quite made it.

Got down to 10 once. Played off 14 most of my golfing life. (Don't play now) Best ever round was a 76 which included a 7 on a par 3! Once won a 'pairs' competition at Moor Park with 53 Stableford points. (Had 3 consecutive birdies, two with shots for a haul of 11 points). Highlight: Played in the Pro-Am of the World Matchplay Championship at Wentworth.Selby White wrote:On that note do we have any Golfers on here ?

Re: The Masters
Remember best round I had was in a match play competition, was actually 3 under the course after 11 holes (and getting abuse from my opponent), won the match on the 12th. Carried on but slumped a little to finish 4 over (that was 12 under as playing off 16 at the time).johnh wrote:Got down to 10 once. Played off 14 most of my golfing life. My mate and I got to the inter-works pairs final twice and first time the company paid for us to play it at the Belfry, other time we played at Ganton (near Malton) which is one of the top Yorkshire Clubs.

Re: The Masters
Reed deserved to win a he stayed so calm when Spieth was on the charge and got level with him.He then birdied the 14th to go to 15 under and par golf all the way home saw him win the green jacket.
Would have loved to see a European win but wasnt to be this year.
