I've had some awful Cross Country train journeys recently & found that they don't give a toss when you complain. They are legally bound to give compensation for late trains & I'm waiting for the outcome of a recent claim. However they just fobbed me off about poor to no service on board. Had to laugh though when announcement was made ' while train is broken down & awaiting rescue train to pull us to York please do not use the toilets as they are full to the brim'. Nice ! Also had problems with overcrowding on Trans Pennine Express last week. Even though we had reserved seats all reservations were scrapped so we had to stand from Manchester to Leeds. Only good thing was I got talking to a Leeds fan . I usually enjoy train travel & regularly use Virgin East Coast & find them OK. Anyway winge over.

Oh & I also like a bit of train spotting ( steam locos. )

Currently on train to London travelling 1st class for the first time.
Lovely food and unlimited coffee along with great service.
Well worth the £30 extra (total for two of us) using railcard and booking early.
Can recommend it on Hull trains.
