Personally prefer curry sauce but don't have a problem with gravy on my chips. What I don't like are these chunky chips that suddenly all the rage on menus. Normal chips or skinny chips here.

If it's proper chip shop chips, it's a little S & V - I don't want them drowned and soggy, thanks.

If it's fries, I prefer mayo.

My gf makes seafood sauce for hers with a sachet of mayo and ketchup :D

Vinegar on your chips, proper vinegar not of that poncey other stuff. Good call Riggs chips & Mayo very nice ;) on the subjects of chips, a chip butty is up there with my favourite foods but it has to be in white/plastic bread & salt & vinegar required.

That is so wrong on so many counts. Please confirm @cheffy007 would Escoffier have included ketchup on a simple chip butty

Chips and gravy is a definite yes.

With regard to the chip butty. Proper chips, salt and buttered plain white bread. With maybe a tub of gravy to dip the butty in.

I like my chips/scraps to be drowned in vinegar and salt, anything else added is a travesty ;)

One of the very few things i miss not living in the UK is some proper fish and chips, just not the same here. We did once have a British Fish & Chip shop here and the owners were from Hull who supported Leeds, sadly they have gone :(
Owners come and go but Leeds United will be there forever, for the fans - keep Marching on Together.
