OK who is the most famous person born within 20 mile from either where you were born or now live ? yes one mans famous is anothers unknown but it's a bit of fun. Not as the crow flies, Google mas decides :lol:

I am serious !

He's absolutely massive all around the world, same as Mr Bean.
It's physical comedy that doesn't generally need a lot of translating ..

Honestly, when I worked for Tower Records down here, tourists always asked two questions : why isn't there a Titanic museum and where's the statue of Benny Hill.
There is actually a Titanic Museum now, which opened about five years ago, but we're still waiting for a bronze of Benny ...

20 miles is a big radius so living in Selby we will include York 12 mile or so up the road.
Will go for Guy Fawkes or more recently Dame Judy Dench.

If we stick with Selby we've had a King born here in Henry 1st

Prince Charles was born in the same hospital as me - St Mary's Paddington.

Does this qualify as a royal connection?
