Adventures on Gumtree, eBay and Shpock ..

Post by Deleted User 728 »

My number one pet-hate on Gumtree is when someone takes the time to change the title or the body text to "NOW SOLD" but leaves the ad up on the site.

WTF ?? :wtf: :wtf: :wtf:

Why not delete it like a sane person ?

I do a fair amount of buying and selling on the 'Bay and Gumtree and usually do alright out of it all, but this week I've been looking for a table.
I moved my living room around recently - it's a 20' x 10' space that most people split into dining and lounge space, but I went "full lounge".
I missed the dinner table, having sold it on Gumtree - for a small profit :)

So anyway, I wanted another one but could I find one ? Could I .... er, no :problem:

So then I remembered Shpock, at the chavvier end of the market place.
Again, no luck, till this morning when I checked for a "dinning table" on a whim and **BOOM** a whole world opened up to me.
I've subsequently tried the same trick on eBay and Gumtree and found there's loads of stuff out there, it's just the great unwashed CAN'T BLOODY SPELL :lolno:

Anyone else got any stories from buying and selling stuff ??

Used to a lot on EBay but haven’t bothered for ages, nowt I really need. Used Gum Tree when I was collecting Panini stickers for the daughter. I once found a load of Butlin’s badges at a flea market & sold them on EBay & was surprised at how much some went for, turned a very healthy profit.

I hear you ..

Having received numerous job applications down the years, I do wonder what's going on.
I'm just surprised more people don't google things like spelling or just use a template, pre-written, and change a few details.

Thers actually an app that will search for words spelled incorrectly on eBay.
